We are very proud to present this beautiful property for your stay however, we cannot take any credit for the property and have to share a little more about the original owner and her descendants. The property was built in 1747 for Miss Irvine, a wealthy acquaintance of Bonnie Prince Charlie. He had recently occupied Stirling to raise an army which would then fight at the battle of Culloden. It was the first house built in the street which was then named Irvine Place. More recently the property has been a loving family home of our client for decades. His grandfather bought it in 1938 and has now housed 4 generations of his family (the Ross family). During World War II, Grandad offered his home to German Prisoners of War, even giving up his bed to ensure they were comfortable. Our clients father was born in the home in 1947 and even bought the property downstairs when he married our client’s mother. Most recently, our client has been living in the property to restore it to it’s current high standard. This meant a long-standing Ross family tradition of celebrating Christmas together in the property continued once again in 2019.

In a city steeped in history lies this wonderfully large Georgian 3 bedroom (sleeps up to 6), property that is shrouded in it’s own 250 year history. There’s more on that later if you’re interested. The historical importance is reflected in the property being a Grade B listed building. It’s been lovingly and sympathetically restored to a high standard. The original listed architectural features have been maintained, such as the sash and case windows, high skirtings and mouldings. With stunning views of the Wallace Monument and Stirling landscape, this home will bring a lot of joy to your visit to Stirling. It is a top floor maisonette, that benefits from 3 large bedrooms, one has an en suite. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including dishwasher, washing machine, large double oven and coffee machine. The window seat overlooking the gorgeous large walled garden is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. The main bathroom has a bath and hand-held shower. There is a spacious living room with spectacular views of the city, Wallace monument and the Ochil Hills. The downstairs is completed by a period featured dining room, large wooden dining table, real wood.
